DECATUR, Ga. - Police in DeKalb County say a man was fatally shot when he answered a knock at the door of his apartment.

Police spokesman Stephen Kenney says the 24-year-old man was shot Sunday night at an apartment complex in south DeKalb County.

Kenney says the victim opened the door slightly when he heard the knock and was shot in the face and died at the scene.

The victim's name has not been released pending notification of relatives. Kenney says no suspect has been identified.
