COVINGTON, Ga. – Investigators with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office are looking for whoever broke into a Covington Christian school over the weekend and stole a van and money.
According to a NCSO incident report, a deputy responded to the Grace Christian Academy at 1705 Access Road just after 8 a.m. Jan. 29 in reference to the burglary. A 2011 Ford Super Wagon and $1,200 cash were reported stolen during the break-in.
A NCSO spokesperson said some information cannot be released because of the ongoing investigation but said that entry was made through a back door.
According to the report, the theft occurred sometime between 3 p.m. Saturday and Monday morning. NCSO spokesperson advised the school has cameras.
