COVINGTON, Ga. – Officers arrested a juvenile carrying jewelry and two handguns in a backpack last Thursday morning after stopping four males walking on Washington Street, according to a Covington police incident report.

Officer Pokey Daniels was patrolling near Avery Street just before 3:30 a.m. Nov. 16 when he observed four males wearing all black walking in the area. Due to thefts and entering auto reports in the area, Daniels made contact with the group.

After placing the juvenile in handcuffs, police searched a black backpack he was carrying. Inside they reportedly found a black and silver Taurus pistol, a black and silver Springfield XD pistol, three magazines, two gold rings, a pair of gloves, two flashlights, clothing and $10.
