J.C. Henderson criticizes city for park conditions; City says it’s a county park

COVINGTON, Ga. - Spillers Park is closed and the previously spread mulch has been removed.

District 4 Commissioner J.C. Henderson provided information to The Covington News stating the mulch used at the park was not certified for that use. 

The mulch needed is required to be certified by the International Playground Equipment Manufacturers Association, according to the information provided. Henderson said the mulch spread does not meet that standard.

Henderson shared Facebook Live video of the mulch removal earlier today.
