An estimated 80 people, many affiliated with area progressive groups, met last Wednesday in Oxford to begin planning the next steps in opposition to a federal Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center that might possibly be established in an existing 1-million-plus square-foot warehouse in Social Circle, potentially housing from 5,000 to 10,000 detainees awaiting deportation.
