Council approves Covington Town Center contract

COVINGTON, Ga. - In a called meeting Thursday, the Covington City Council unanimously approved a construction performance agreement for the Covington Town Center project, moving it forward one more step.

Covington Town Center, a project exceeding 80 acres of land on Alcovy Road and City Pond Road, is planned to be a dining and shopping center. The Foxfield Company was set to close on the property Friday.

Formerly known as Project Phoenix because it grew out of the ashes of the earlier Project Kitchen Sink, the project had ceased operation about a year ago. The project was resurrected in August of 2016.The Foxfield Company is in its 30th year of developing projects such as this.

The council previously approved the zoning for the project at the beginning of this year.
