The Covington office of Better Hearing Atlanta is hosting a free seminar from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Nov. 30 at their office, 4165 Hospital Drive.

An audiologist from Phonak, the hearing aid manufacturer, will explain the causes of hearing loss, including genetics and exposure to loud noises, said Marketing Coordinator Margaret Keating.

Attendees will also be educated on how to prevent and treat hearing loss. Keating said hearing cannot be restored once lost, but there are different methods to mitigate hearing loss.

The seminar will last an hour and a free lunch will be provided. Space is limited to about 20 spots and reservations can be made by calling (678) 625-4908.

Owners Barb and Joe Stock have been working in the hearing aid business for about 45 years and opened their Covington office five years ago. Joe was also appointed to the Georgia State Board of Hearing Aid Dealers and Dispensers by Gov. Nathan Deal to help monitor other hearing aid businesses.
