Newton Medical Center’s Infection Prevention Coordinator Jenay Beshears, R.N., B.S.N. has earned the Certified Infection Control (CIC®) credential from The Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CBIC®).
The purpose of the CIC® credentialing process is to protect the public by providing a standardized measurement of current basic knowledge needed for persons practicing infection control. Individuals who earn their CIC® credential join approximately 5,000 practitioners worldwide who are certified in infection control.
“Obtaining my certification in infection prevention and control validates knowledge and proficiency in infection prevention and control. Having a board certified infection prevention coordinator demonstrates to Newton Medical Center patients that we are serious about preventing infections within our facility by utilizing the most current evidence-based guidelines to direct our practices,” said Beshears.
