Newton County continues to attract movies, as "American Reunion," the fourth installment of the "American Pie" movie series, is scheduled film at Newton High School July 5 through July 20.

Tourism Director Clara Deemer said the county landed the movie shoot, but was not chosen for scenes for the second season of AMC's "The Walking Dead." A remake of "The Three Stooges" may still be filmed here.

The Newton County Board of Education will have to approve filming at Newton High School at its June 7 meeting, according to Dennis Carpenter, deputy superintendent for operations.

Filming for "American Reunion" began in Conyers, and will include scenes at Heritage High School, Olde Town Conyers and Costley Mill Park.

"American Reunion" follows the 10-year reunion of the characters from "American Pie" and features much of the original cast from 1999, according to IMDB, including Alyson Hannigan, Seann William Scott, Mena Suvari, Jason Biggs, Tara Reid, Jennifer Coolidge, Chris Klein and Thomas Ian Nicholas.
