The Lady Redskins suffered another home defeat Tuesday evening after falling 8-0 to Hebron Christian.
It would be a lack of offense against a dominating pitching performance from Hebron Christian that proved to be fatal to the Lady Redskins. The Redskins only managed one hit and four total base runners in the game. The lone hit was provided by Lexis Austin in the first inning, but she was left stranded on the base path as the side was retired in order after that. The other three base runners came on a lone walk issued by Hebron and two errors. Hebron Christian issued eight total strike outs in the game and was only the one hit away from a no-hitter.
Hebron Christian struck early scoring two runs in the first inning, but the Redskins would settle in to play solid defense over the next two innings only allowing one more run. Hebron opened the game up in the fourth, scoring twice making it a 5-0 contest and added the final three runs in the top of the 5th inning. The ball game would end early under a run limit rule after the Lady ‘Skins failed to score in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Coming into this contest Hebron was ranked second in the state in the GHSA class A rankings. The Lady Redskins will look to continue a push for the playoffs as they host region foe George Walton Academy at home on Thursday evening. Social Circle will look to avenge an earlier season loss to the George Walton Bulldogs in that contest.
