SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. — From Monday, June 5 to Thursday, June 8, Social Circle boys and girls basketball teams hosted its annual basketball summer camp. The camp was open to kids ranging from kindergarten to rising sixth graders.
This year’s camp took place in the school’s gymnasium from 9 a.m. to Noon each day.
Approximately 20 kids participated throughout the week. They were led through various drills, too, such as dribbling, passing, fundamentals, stretching, shooting, communication and teamwork.
Coaches and high school players — eight girls basketball players assisted during the week — who helped run the camp also taught the kids through a few challenge drills and scrimmages. Lunch was provided for all campers every day as well.
To help remember the occasion, each kid who registered received a camp T-shirt, too.
