SNELLVILLE, Ga. — The Newton Rams found a little salve for its wounds by splitting a doubleheader with Region 8-AAAAAAA foe Shiloh Friday night, winning game one 5-3 before falling 7-4 in the night cap.
The Rams jumped to 3-13 overall and 2-7 in region play with their next action slated for Friday in a non-region game against Chamblee (12-11, 6-2 in Region 5-AAAAA). That game is slated for a 2 p.m. first pitch. Newton will turnaround and meet Tucker on Saturday in a makeup game that’s also set to begin at 2 p.m.
The Rams will jump back into region play Monday when it hosts Archer (13-7, 8-1) for the first in a three-game region stint.
