In opening game on Senior Night the Lady Rams exploded from the opening tip and never looked back as they pounded the Lady Indians from East Coweta by a 64-31 margin.
Lady Ram head coach Tiffani Johnson was pleased with her team's performance, "We finally came out ready to play. We were able to force some turnovers and capitalize on them for some easy baskets. We did a good job of playing team basketball, making the extra pass. Tonight was really a good momentum builder with the Region Tournament starting next week."
It was two seniors who did the bulk of the damage for the Lady Rams. Danyel Forney used her strong inside presence to record a career-high 26 points.
Mikola Burks added 17 points plus numerous assists as she unselfishly tried to get more of her teammates on the score sheet.
The Lady Rams now stand at 18-6 (8-5 Region 2-AAAAA) heading into their regular season finale tonight at Luella. It is a battle for third place in the region standings as both times hold 8-5 region records. The start time of the game has been moved up and will now tip off at 6 p.m. instead of 7 p.m.
