FOOTBALL: Piedmont Academy to host Cougars Pro Day camp

MONTICELLO, Ga. -- Former college and National Football League players will be on hand at Piedmont Academy for a football camp that will take place on July 13 and be open to kids from age 8 through 18. 

The camp will feature a morning session for ages 8-12 years and an afternoon session for ages 13-18 years.

Those scheduled to attend include:

•Ryan Schrader, All-American football player at Valdosta State and a five-year starter for the Atlanta Falcons including the 2016 Super Bowl.

•Edmond Kugbila, All-American offensive lineman at Valdosta State and draft pick of the Carolina Panthers. He is currently the owner of 70 KG Elite Performance.

•Deandre Smeltzer, a standout wide receiver for Georgia Tech and the San Francisco 49ers.

•Seantavious Jones, All-American wide receiver at Valdosta State and former member of the Kansas City Chiefs.

•Isaiah Gresham, starting defensive back for Valdosta State and owner of Next Level Sports and Performance.

The morning session will be from 9 to 11:45 a.m.  with the afternoon session from 12:30 to 3 p.m.

Cost is $50 per player. Those who register by July 7 can do so for $40. The camp is open to all players in the area, regardless of school. Proceeds will benefit the Piedmont Academy football program.

“We want to make this an annual event,” Johnson said. “We hope to get even more instructors in the future.”
