Alcovy High School senior basketball player Oliver Gerard has been selected to compete in the inaugural GHSA slam dunk contest this weekend.
The event will be held at the Macon Centreplex on Saturday, March 7, at 4:45 p.m.
Gerard is one of three finalists from across the state who advanced through the first two rounds of voting. The trio will now have a chance to show off their skills on the game's biggest stage in a dunk contest that will be held between the Class AAAAAA boys' state championship game and the Class AAAAAAA girls' state championship game. No special props or gimmicks will be permitted for use.
