Three photo submissions were selected as finalists for the Backyard Wildlife Photo Contest. The finalists will be on display during the Big Haynes Creek Wildlife Festival at the Georgia International Horse Park, Aug. 24-25.
The finalists are Jennifer Rhoads of Conyers, Georgia who submitted a photo she took at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit of a heron enjoying a snack, Jim McCallum of Ellenwood, Georgia who submitted a photo of a newborn deer hiding in tall grass at the Clayton County Water Authority Newman Wetlands Center, and Beverly Wasendorf of Conyers who submitted a photo of a young fox in her backyard.
Over the summer months, the photo contest received over 125 eligible photographs from individuals, including pictures of birds, raccoons, squirrels, deer, frogs, butterflies, and more.
The finalists of the photo contest, presented BJ's Membership Club, will be on display during the Big Haynes Creek Wildlife Festival on August 24-25, 2013, at the Georgia International Horse Park, where guests will vote on their favorite picture. The winner with the most votes will receive two tickets to the Georgia Aquarium; also, one lucky voter will receive two free tickets the Georgia Aquarium. The Seventh Annual Big Haynes Creek Wildlife Festival returns to the Georgia International Horse Park on August 24-25, 2013. This unique event promises to delight the entire family, featuring wildlife exhibits, reptile shows, birds of prey, storytelling, living history, arts, crafts and much more.
