UPDATE: Springfield Baptist's 100,000 pounds of food was fully distributed by Wednesday, Dec. 17. The church was able to sponsor the food for 100 families in need chosen by Rockdale County Public Schools and 100 families chosen by Rockdale Emergency Relief among the families it helped during this quarter's food distribution. SBC holds a free food distribution once every three months.

Springfield Baptist Church will be giving away more than 100,000 pounds of food to families in need from Dec. 16-19.

The registration and distribution dates/time are: Tuesday, Dec. 16, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Wednesday, Dec. 17, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Thursday, Dec. 18, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 19, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Recipients must be present and show ID to register in order to receive food. Distribution is for residents of Rockdale County and of surrounding counties.

Food will be distributed until the allotted amount of food for that day runs out.

The registration and distribution location is as the Springfield Baptist Activity Center, located behind the worship center, at 1877 Iris Dr, Conyers.
