This week the city of Conyers presented its annual state of the city message at the newly remodeled, city-owned Cherokee Run golf course and facility. The who's who of community leaders were in attendance to hear the Mayor and Council show and talk about the progress made in the city this past year.
We congratulate the Spirit of Conyers award winners and their dedication to making Conyers as fine a small city as there is in the state. You can see their names in today's paper.
In spite of the sad state of the economy, the city continues to put forth a progressive foot into this New Year. We praise the city leaders for their fiscal efforts in managing the city.
That fiscal responsibility has generally been paired with a genuine concern for the fiscal well being of city taxpayers. Residents are going through tough economic times and every dollar counts. We caution city leaders not to abandon this principle that has guided them over the years.
