Heritage senior Kierra Camp made her committment to Georgia Southern official Wednesday afternoon, signing her National Letter of Intent with the Eagles on National Signing Day.

Camp was joined by her family and coaches as she made her pledge to continue her career next season.

Camp, who helped lead the Patriots to their first region title since 2002, was named to the 2013 first-team Region 8-AAAAA team.

As the Patriots' No. 1 starter this season, Camp posted a .53 earned run average for Heritage, while batting .404.

Camp and the Patriots finished the season with a perfect 8-0 mark in region play, defeating Loganville 7-1 in the region title game.

Heritage made it to the second round of the state tournament before falling to Stephenson in straight games.

Camp joins a Georgia Southern program that went 33-30 last season, with a 14-9 mark in Southern Conference play.

The Eagles reached the NCAA Tournament, but fell to South Florida 2-1 to end their season.

The trip to the NCAA Tournament was the second consecutive year the Eagles have qualified for postseason play.
