A freeze warning for most of the north and central regions of the state, including Rockdale County, has been issued for tonight through Saturday morning by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City. A cold high pressure over the lower Mississippi valley will be centered over Georgia tonight. this will bring clear skies and calm winds, allowing temperatures to drop to the upper 20s and low 30s. Recently budded plants and trees that are susceptible to frost and freeze will likely be damaged or killed if left unprotected, according to the NWS.
