The Rockdale County Board of Commissioners announced it plans to appoint Roselyn Miller as finance director at the
July 28 board meeting.
Miller, the current deputy director of the department and Linda Nabers, current finance reporting officer for the department, were the top two candidates selected for the director's position.
"While serving as interim director for the past seven months Ms. Miller's professionalism and dedication to the organization is a true testament to what a team player is and what we need to help lead this agency in the right direction." said County Commission Chairman Richard Oden.
Miller was hired in December 2000 as the accounting manager and was promoted to Deputy Director in 2004. She took over the day-to-day operations of the department as interim director in January 2009 when Mia Wilson resigned. Miller holds an associate's degree in accounting and is completing her bachelor's of business administration. She has over 15 years of financial management experience.
Nabers is expected to be named as the department's deputy director, as part of an effort to streamline processes, according to a released statement. Nabers has been with the Finance Department since March 2005. She holds a bachelor's of business administration and has extensive knowledge of private and public accounting practices.
"It is a good feeling to know we have the talent and expertise in-house to promote Ms. Miller and Ms. Nabers into new roles. During my administration they have both shown great initiative and really stepped up to the plate to help make the Finance Department run smoothly," said Oden. "They both greatly deserve these promotions and I look forward to working with them both in their new roles."
