Heartfelt thanks to the Newton County community for coming out in support of Action Ministries first Dine Out-Do Good event! With almost all proceeds now in, we can announce that over $8,000 was raised due to the generosity of our amazing restaurant partners which included: Amici’s, Blimpie’s, Bradley’s BBQ, Burrito Loco, Chick-fil-A, Firehouse Subs, Henderson’s, Jersey Mike’s, Johnny’s Pizza, LongHorn’s, Mystic Grill, Plain Nuts, The Social House, Square Perk, Walden’s, Where There’s Smoke BBQ, Zaxby’s as well as the Church of the Good Shepherd (that participated through their Annual Spaghetti Dinner). Each of these partners donated 10 percent of their sales on Nov. 5 — with ALL proceeds going to help fund Action Ministries’ SuperPack Program (food packets that are provided to Newton County school children who face serious food insecurities on the weekends). The outpouring of support from the community for this first ever event was just amazing! Special thanks to our sponsors: Pinnacle Realtors, Element Funding and Snapping Shoals EMC (Unclaimed Capital Credits). Due to the generosity of so many, hundreds of Newton County school children will go home with SuperPacks each Friday from now until the end of the school year — with food to sustain them over the weekends. Thank you to ALL who came out to eat, to all of our restaurant partners, and sponsors! Happy New Year to all of you!

Warmly,
Tamara Richardson
