Mr. Raymond David Gordon, 56 of Covington, died Saturday, Jan. 3. the son of the late William Jesse and Audrey Mae White Gordon, he was born in 1952 in Chatham County. He was a retired cab driver. Mr. Gordon enjoyed singing, poetry, songwriting, telling jokes and fishing. Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Jack, James and Bobby Hampton.Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Audrey Cherease and Brian Kincaid; son and daughter-in-law Raymond Dallas and Ivey Brook Gordon; grandchildren Dalton Saxon, Braden Kincaid, Presley Gordon, Rease Kincaid, Parker Gordon; brothers Thomas “Marty” Hampton, Richard Hampton, William J. “Flash” Gordon Jr.. and Arthur Lee Gordon; sisters Jackie Callaway, Jeanette Gilmore, Patricia Bland and Uvalda Robbins; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Zion Baptist Church, 7037 Highway 212, Covington, with Mr. Ted Ryan officiating.
