Mrs. Rachael B. Payne of Covington passed away January 29, 2011 at the age of 82.  She was born in Jackson, GA to James W. and Mary (King) Baugh and was the widow of Ardell Junior Payne and grew up in the Covington Mill area. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband, especially the camping trip they took to Alaska.  Rachael was a lifetime member of The Gospel Tabernacle and Christ Cornerstone Church, and served as the Ladies Auxiliary Leader for the Gospel Tabernacle. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Payne is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Ann Payne, Darrell and Gracie Payne, David and Valorie Payne all of Covington, Randy and Cathy Payne of Eatonton; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Judith and Gene Crawford of Covington; brother, Buddy Baugh of Milledgeville; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Payne will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2011, 11:00 A.M. at Christ Cornerstone Church with Pastor Darrell Payne and Pastor David Payne officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 1215 Access Road, Covington on Monday, January 31, 2011, 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made to Christ Cornerstone Church, P. O. Box 1998, Covington, GA. 30015.
