Mr. James M. “Pete” Bohannon, 78, died Saturday night at GRU in Augusta. Mr. Bohannon was born in Porterdale, son of the late James W. and Laura P. Bohannon. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mildred, and his sister Velta. Reverend Bohannon had retired as pastor of the Midville Baptist Church in 2000. Reverend Bohannon had pastored churches throughout the state of Georgia for over 40 years. He was a member of Elam Baptist Church in Millen.

Funeral services for Mr. Bohannon will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Farmer officiating. Interment will be in Eastbrook Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Mitchell Johnson, Rayburn Johnson, Marty Orvin, Norman Parker, David Newton, Walt Landing, Kenny Wiggins, Jonathon Proctor and Danny Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Elam Baptist Church Adult Men’s Sunday School Class and the Elam Baptist Church Men’s Brotherhood.

The family of Mr. Bohannon will receive friends Wednesday afternoon one hour prior to the service at Tomlinson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elam Baptist Church Mission Offering, C/O elam Baptist Church, 5119 Elam Road, Millen, GA 30442 or to the Golden Harvest Food Bank, JCES Back Pack Program, 3310 Commerce Dr., Augusta, Ga. 30909 — Att: Kimberly Robinson.

He is survived by his daughter Nona Farmer (Kevin) of Millen.
