Joseph T. Overton of Norcross died Oct. 12. Raised in Thomasville, Mr. Overton was a graduate of Oglethorpe University. He retired from Wells Fargo Bank, formerly First Atlanta.

He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Jean DeVault Overton and is survived by his son Dr. Joseph T. Overton Jr.; daughters Kelley Pierce and Julie Aitchison; grandchildren Kathryn Pierce, Roxie Pierce and Charlie Aitchison.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 at the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations to American Macular Degeneration Foundation PO Box 515 Northampton MA 01061-0515. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 17 at A. S. Turner & Sons.
