Mr. Johnny R. Thomas (Rat) died Oct. 1. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny L. Thomas, he was born in 1954 in Covington. Reared in a loving and God-fearing family, he attended Washington Street School and joined Truth of Nation Church at an early age.
Surviving are loving wife Mrs. Elaine Thomas; children Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Thomas (Meka), Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Thomas (Candy), Dementra White, Darold White, Latonya White, Ieshia Thomas, Nigel Thomas; parents Mr. and Mrs. Johnny L. Thomas; brothers Mr. Stanley Thomas, Pastor and Mrs. Michael L. Thomas (Chris), Terry Wayne Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Lyndon Charles Thomas (Tonya), Church Thomas; devoted sister Mr. and Mrs. Larry O’Neal Camp Sr. (Calamity); 14 grandchildren; grandmother Mrs. Eloise Morris; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Oct. 6 at New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Annette Nash officiating. Interment followed at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
