Mrs. Helen B. Kirkpatrick, 85, of Covington, passed away May 3. She worked in the local textile mills for more than 46 years and was a member of Gaithers United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting and cooking.

Mrs. Kirkpatrick was preceded in death by her sons Morris Fincher and Randy Fincher; parents Wilburn Ashburry and Birtie Mae (Carlan) Brock; sisters Tallie Kittle, Dixie Brock, Lottie Ballard, Irene Wilbanks; brothers Deward Brock and John Brock.

Survivors include her husband Walker Sams Kirkpatrick Sr. of Covington; daughters and sons-in-law Darlene and Shawn McPherson of Conyers, Lisa and Fritz Amerin of Covington; son and daughters-in-law Walker Jr. and Linda Kirkpatrick of Covington, Karen Fincher of Oxford; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Grace and Herman Goddard of Covington; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services from Mrs. Kirkpatrick will be held 1 p.m. tomorrow, May 6, at Gaithers United Methodist Church, 1375 Newton Factory Bridge Road, with Rev. Brad Rutledge officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, today, May 5, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 9 p.m.
