Geraldine Farrar Ellington of Oxford, GA, died Sunday January 24, 2010, at Rockdale Medical Center. She was born on August 30, 1914, in Oxford, GA, to the late Charlie Claud and Calidona Mitcham Hood. Mrs. Ellington is survived by Daughter and Partner Gwen Donie Ellington and Teresa Williams of Conyers; Daughter-In-Law Yvonne Ellington of Covington; Granddaughters and their Spouses Lee and Peter O'Driscoll of Villa Rica, GA, and Calidona Farrar and Patrick Briggs of Covington; Sister Lois Bliss of Wheeling, WV; Sisters-In-Law Charlotte Hood of Oxford and Beverly Hood of Loganville; Great-Grandchildren Hannah, Grace, Meghan O'Driscoll and Charlie Briggs; several nieces, nephews, other family and close friends. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Mr. Hoke Ellington and her Son, Mr. Charles Gerald Ellington.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, in the chapel of Harwell-Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Wilmesherr and Rev. Kerry Duncan officiating. Interment will be at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 25, 2010, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Gum Creek Presbyterian Church.
