Mr. Billy A. Lindsey, 82, passed away Feb. 11 at his home in Covington. Mr. Lindsey was preceded in death by his wife Frances C. Lindsey, parents Chester Dean and Mary Pauline (Culberth) Lindsey, brothers Reid Lindsey and Terrell Lindsey and brother-in-law Sonny Coady. Mr. Lindsey was a NASCAR fan and loved gardening and spending time with his grandson. He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church for more than 40 years and will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Robin and Jeff Lamb of Covington; son and daughter-in-law Teddy and Stephanie Piper of Douglasville; grandchildren Dustin Piper of Conyers, Christine Penland Bray of Covington; three great-grandsons; brothers and sisters-in-law Wallace and Gail Lindsey of Porterdale, Jimmy and Sheila Lindsey of Conley, Macel Lindsey of Covington, Geraldine Smallwood of Porterdale, Jordye Coady of Covington; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary Lee and Donald Brooks of Covington; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Mr. Lindsey will be held at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 13, at Canaan Baptist Church in Covington with the Rev. Thomas Satterfield and Dr. Scott Caudill officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park.
