Amanda Nash, born July 4, 1966, died on April 4. Daughter of Ethelene Brown Lester and the late Leno "Lent" Neal she was born in Newton County, and she was one of their nine children.

Amanda received her early education in the Newton County Public School, where she enjoyed playing basketball. In 1984 she graduated from Heritage High School in Conyers. Affectionately called "Bay Day," Amanda was the proud mother of six children whom she adored. An excellent homemaker, she enjoyed taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She will be greatly missed.

She departed this earthly life on Easter Sunday. She leaves her precious memories and a legacy of love to her six children. Orlando (Leateka) Usher, Sr., Mario Neal, Alexis Neal, Kemesha Neal, Aaliyah Neal and Danny Moore; her six grand children: Orlando Usher, Jr., Jaiden Neal, Montaevious Neal, Marquis Neal, Vasquez Neal and Malik Neal; her loving mother Ethelene Brown Lester; her step-father Willie H. Brown; her sisters Jacqueline (Melvin) Rainey, Angela Lester, Gwendolyn Lester, Patsy Neal and Crystal Brown; her brothers Melvin Lester, Alonzo Lester, Glenn (Tammie) Brown, Al Franklin and Leno Brown Neal, Jr.; her god-daughter Tashuana Blake; her special friends Andre "Steve Bo" Webb, Reginald Bell and Cindy Maddox. She was also blessed with a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services for Ms. Neal will be Monday, April 12, 2 p.m. at Little Bethlehem Narrow Way Pentecostal Church in Covington. Bishop James Burns and Rev. Michael Brown will deliver the eulogy. Internment will follow at the church cemetery.
