On a bright Saturday, the ladies of Team Pinkalicious brought food, games and prizes to Covington.
With help from Walmart, The Covington Public Safety Community and Apollo Staffing, the "Go Pink" event had a number of fun activities for the whole family.
Preview story: The ladies of Team Pinkalicious will paint the town pink Saturday, June 2 in their event aimed to raise funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. The Covington Public Heroes will host the event at the Covington area Walmart, held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
With help from Walmart, The Covington Public Safety Community and Apollo Staffing, the "Go Pink" event will incorporate a number of fun activities for the whole family. There will be food, games and prizes. There will also be fire trucks and police cars for kids to see.
Ken Malcom, Covington Police Captain, said these women have been extremely committed to the cause. In 2011, they raised over $68,000 and their goal for 2012 is to reach $100,000. "I speak for our entire public safety community in saying that we are excited to do our part to help Team Pinkalicious reach their goal," said Malcom. "My sister is currently fighting breast cancer so for me, this is personal."
