ATLANTA (AP) — The president of a South Carolina-based real estate company says he expects to close a deal soon on a downtown Atlanta shopping center.
President and CEO of WRS Inc. Real Estate, Scott Smith, tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/1xqsHJd ) his company is expecting to buy Underground Atlanta and he hopes to begin construction on a redevelopment project by 2016. The company is based in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed said in a statement that he's planning on making an economic development announcement at City Hall on Wednesday morning.
