GRIFFIN, Ga. (AP) — A pair of Spalding County elementary school administrators surrendered to accusations of using excessive physical force against two elementary school students.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://on-ajc.com/1bcUYJS ) reports Atkinson Elementary School principal Aveory Allen and teacher Derek Wilder grabbed two boys by the neck on March 26. Parents of the children reported the incident to school system leaders, who began an investigation and contacted Griffin police.

Griffin police say Allen and Wilder have been charged on counts of cruelty to children and battery.

It is unclear if either Allen or Wilder has a lawyer.
