ATLANTA - Police have arrested the mother of a toddler who was found wandering around an Atlanta apartment complex.

A resident of the complex in southwest Atlanta called police after noticing the 2-to-4-year-old boy early Wednesday. Police say the boy was shoeless and wearing only boxer shorts.

Atlanta police Capt. Van Hobbs says officers asked the boy to show them where he lives, but the house he pointed to wasn't the right house.

Police say the mother returned home from work, realized the child was missing and called police. Police charged with woman, identified as 30-year-old Christina Maronie, with reckless conduct. The child was placed in protective custody.
