ATLANTA (AP) — Federal officials say more than 448,500 Georgians have signed up for health insurance through a federally facilitated marketplace.
Department of Health and Human Services officials said in a statement Wednesday that 448,512 Georgia residents have signed up for coverage. Officials say roughly 7.5 million people have chosen a plan or were automatically re-enrolled in one as of Jan. 30, 2015.
Officials say the open enrollment deadline is Feb. 15. Department Secretary Sylvia Burwell says 90 percent of Georgia consumers who signed up for coverage qualify for federal assistance to lower their premiums.
