RIVERDALE, Ga. (AP) — A student at Riverdale High School in Clayton County brought a loaded handgun to school, but no students were injured.
Clayton Schools Police Chief Clarence Cox says a campus security officer was attempting to detain a student inside the school Friday morning and when he resisted, the gun fell out of his pocket. Police locked down the school as a precaution, but soon lifted the lockdown.
WXIA-TV reported that an assistant principal fell and hurt his elbow while running to the scene.
