ATLANTA (AP) — A new exhibition at Atlanta's High Museum of Art explores the origins and artistic influence of the distinctive, curvy Coca-Cola bottle.

"The Coca-Cola Bottle: An American Icon at 100" opens Saturday and is set to run through Oct. 4. The collaboration between the High and Atlanta-based Coca-Cola marks the centennial of the bottle's design.

The exhibition walks visitors through the history of the design, which was conceived to distinguish Coca-Cola from imitators.

The exhibition also features works of artists influenced by the bottle, including Andy Warhol paintings inspired by Coca-Cola advertisements from the beginning of his Pop art period. Some photos on display show the bottle or logo as art, while in other images, the bottle and logo just happen to be present.
