ATLANTA (AP) — Forecasters are issuing a wind chill advisory as the coldest weather in about year arrives in Georgia.

The National Weather Service on Wednesday issued a wind chill advisory for most of the state.

The advisory, which runs through Thursday morning, includes all of northern and central Georgia and parts of south Georgia, including Vidalia, Americus and Statesboro.

Forecasters said the wind chill -- the combination of air temperature and wind -- will range from around 5 degrees below zero in far north Georgia to around 10 degrees in the central part of the state.

The Weather Service said that as an arctic air mass moves in, the coldest day for Georgians will be Thursday.
