ATLANTA (AP) — An execution date has been set for a man convicted in a 1992 murder.
The Georgia Attorney General's office says 46-year-old Brian Keith Terrell's execution is scheduled for March 10.
Prosecutors say Terrell stole 10 checks belonging to 77-year-old John Watson of Covington and signed his own name when he used them. Officials say Watson told Terrell's mother and sheriff's officials. Prosecutors say Terrell shot Watson at his house before dragging him to a secluded area and severely beating him.
Terrell was indicted on charges of malice murder and 10 counts of forgery. His first trial ended in a mistrial and the conviction in a second trial was overturned because of an error during jury selection.
Terrell is the fourth Georgia inmate to be scheduled for execution in 2015.
