ATLANTA (AP) — A firefighter training exercise is expected to create smoke plumes near the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Airport officials say firefighters will be participating in a certification exercise on Wednesday between 8 a.m. and noon.

Officials say heavy, dark smoke may be visible near the airport during the live burn drill.

Another full-scale disaster drill from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday will feature emergency responders dousing a simulated plane fire and treating nearly 100 volunteers acting as injured passengers.
