AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — A grand jury in Augusts has indicted 21 people arrested on charges of seeking sex with children in an undercover police operation.
The Augusta Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/1fbHfox ) the charges stem from a May operation by state and local authorities that used social media accounts to identify suspects looking for sex with underage teens. Authorities say many of the indicted suspects were arrested after they drove to sites where they expected to meet with children after making arrangements online.
Charges filed in the case include solicitation of sexual contact with a child and criminal attempt to commit child molestation. Those indicted range in age from 20 to 52.
