A 53-year-old woman was arrested Saturday night after allegedly furnishing alcohol to a group of minors. According to Newton County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Corporal Anthony Washington, a parent of one of the teens contacted 911 after she discovered her son intoxicated at the home of 53-year-old Julia Powell. The parent had reportedly called her 17-year-old son’s cell phone and her child — who was out visiting a friend – did not pick up.
