Covington residents looking to upgrade their appliances and save some energy costs could receive some additional rebates courtesy of the Federal stimulus package.The Georgia State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program began on Feb. 12, and more than $7.9 million remains available in rebates to Georgia customers who purchase Energy Star qualified appliances. The rebates range from $25 for new freezers to $199 for a variety of items, including new solar or gas water heaters and gas furnaces and boilers. Residents who qualify for the program will receive the rebate in the form of a prepaid
