The home at 1121 Cooper Road in Social Circle was destroyed in a fire Wednesday evening.

The fire was reported at 5:08 p.m. and crews worked it for multiple hours. The cause is still under investigation, said Newton County Fire Chief Mike Satterfield.

The home sits on 8 acres and was valued at $196,400, according to the Newton County Tax Assessor's website.
