Small house, big prize: The Covington Woman’s Club would like to congratulate Alcovy High School student Kenny Leathers on winning first place in woodworking at the Career Center Instruction conference at Jekyll Island April 30 - May 2. Leathers’ project involved building a model of a house to scale, using balsa wood, making a bulletin board and creating a notebook. The project was built in the construction lab at Alcovy and took approximately six weeks from start to finish. The club provided a sponsorship for Kenny so that he was able to attend and compete.
