Students will have the chance to meet their teachers and tour their schools before the start of the 2013-14 school year.

The Newton County School System has scheduled open houses for all Newton County Schools just a few days before the first day of school, which is Aug. 2.

Open house for elementary schools will be held on Wednesday, July 31, from 5 to 7 p.m.; for middle school students on Thursday, Aug. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m.; and for high school students on Wednesday, July 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. Open house will be held at each school.

NCSS officials said students and parents will be able to find out about food services and bus routes during open house.
