Rocky Plains Elementary- a go-getter

This is the last in the elementary school series. Flint Hill does not have numbers from the 2010-11 school year because they were not yet open and Ficquett operated as the theme school. We will begin our middle schools Friday.

The farthest school in the county, Rocky Plains doesn't let its rural setting interfere with the get-done attitude of teachers, staff, parents and students.

"By the time students reach the 5th grade at RPES, their performance shows mid-90s in English language arts and mathematics," said Superintendent Gary Mathews. "And over the years, the school has consistently met Adequate Yearly Progress amidst a majority free/reduced meal population resulting in the school's designation as one of Georgia's Distinguished Title I schools. A great place for kids, RPES students enjoy not only a strong core curriculum, but also strong music, art, P.E. and technology. Principal Miranda Jones and faculty share an outstanding data room wherein they carefully monitor student progress. Learning there is not by accident.
