Piedmont Academy's high school math team had a successful year of competition under the direction of Ralph Hickman. Members include seniors Davis Kimball, Samuel McGinnis and Jeremy Wood; juniors Julia Clare Maloney, Jenna Vella and Andrew Wilzman; sophomores Austin Bass, Joseph Hardin and Gabe Hestad; and freshman PJ Leonetti.

The team participated in team events at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus and Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah and an individual competition at Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw.

Sophomores and seniors recently competed in the American Mathematics Competition Tests. The competition is the first of a series of competitions in high school mathematics. Bass and Wilzman earned the top score in both groups, respectively.
