Peachtree Academy gives thanks

Great-ful: Peachtree Academy Private School in Conyers held their first Give Thanks Day on Nov. 20.  The student body and families participated in numerous community service projects.  The school set a record for donations to the Rockdale Emergency Relief by contributing 7,650 non-perishable items.  Mrs. Osborne ‘s third grade class collected 4,129 items and delivered the items to the facility. Other activities at the school included tie dying scarves for cancer patients at Grady’s Oncology Center in Atlanta. More than 200 goody bags were assembled for Operation Sandbox from donated items.  Each bag contained a universal headset donated by Airtran Airways.  The students made about 200 tissue paper flowers for local nursing home patients.  Christmas cards, ornaments and bookmarks were also made for nursing home patients and troops.
